Lindum Squash Club

On 11th & 12 September Lindum was host to two excellent matches against a Royal Artillery touring team. As well as the players, friends and family, and club members who came to support and enjoy the excellent squash, we were also delighted to welcome members of the local Royal Artillery Association, who came along to support their lads.

On Friday the RA team played a Lindum team of members and invited quest.  Unfortunately, they proved much too strong for us, but some excellent squash was played.  Andy Booth was our only winner, playing some excellent squash to earn a feather in our cap.

Rob Lunn presented RA team captain Ray Burke with the winner's trophy, and in return RA team leader Paddy Maple presented the club with a glass plaque in recognition of the event.  Drinks and a fish and chip supper from the Seller's local shop followed, and the extremely pleasant evening was rounded off with promises to make the event an annual occurence.
